The 1,000 Step Fellows program works with young people in the early stages of college through the first years of their professional careers to help them set and reach their goals. 1,000 Steps Fellows are an elite group of individuals distinguished by their hard work, excellence, and determination in becoming the first members of their families to attend college and pursue professional careers.

The 1,000 Steps name is inspired by Alexis Vassilakas, first generation college graduate and senior finance industry professional, who said:  “I’d rather hire someone who has climbed a 1,000 steps to get where they are than somebody who has only gone 10.”
